Another new year....more new ways to be attacked.

Another new year....more new ways to be attacked.

As we are months underway into a new year, not only does it bring us new opportunities; but a reason to get into shape, see the spring flowers, knowing that football season is that much closer, and so also brings us a whole new set of security threats and attacks.

With the continued rise of smart phones and the world of "apps" you can pretty much guarantee that mobile applications will be a rising target for malware. This is shown by the recent attack on the Android store were the company had to ward users that over 250,000 phones could have been hit with the virus.

But that is just the start. Social networking scams, fake anti-virus scams, PDF documents in emails, and state sponsored malware attacks are all on the rise. As the bad fella's are continuing to find ways to get in, luckily the latest anti-virus platforms do a much better job than before at identifying suspicious activity before they can. These are all things that security software will hopefully protect you against....but not always, some times just being aware can be the best antidote there is. I also have a solution as to how to help you out with that awareness.

You can learn more about upcoming security threats through The Garland Group's webinar hosted by our security guru Eric!
